In a world where people are so dependent on technology, we can sometimes get a bit carried away. And although it is necessary up to a certain degree, sometimes I even catch myself just scrolling through pictures and videos aimlessly for more than just a few minutes. Social media can cause certain people to feel insecure about themselves, comparing their lives or bodies to others. And if we find ourselves constantly checking to see what’s going on in everyone else’s life, it can distance us from those who are really there for us through thick and thin. We can even forget to appreciate God’s wonderful creation, made specifically for us to enjoy (Revelation 4:11).  All it takes is for us to look up, look around and smile. Put down the phone every now and then and enjoy the moment, whether it be spending time with family and friends, working in your creative outlet, or enjoying the great outdoors. There are days where I even forget where my phone is because I’m not worrying about it.  It’s a liberating feeling. Try it out!
